Sitting is the new smoking
Picture
Sitting for long periods of time is linked to several health conditions and even an increased risk of death.
Inactivity can include many more activities other than watching TV. Desk work and driving for long periods are also considered to be forms of inactivity. The solution... Sit less and move more overall. Consider standing more at work, walking during breaks, stretching even if if seated, taking the stairs, parking farther from the door and incorporating physical activity into your lifestyle. Activity tools like fitness trackers can also be used to provide helpful feedback and remind you to get moving. For more information on sitting risks, click here
